Peter Tyler

Peter Tyler is a Radical veteran, having joined one of the original SR1 grids back in 2015. He is a driver that can be compared to a metronome, as he’s reliable and consistent.

However, Peter didn’t begin competing in Radicals. He raced two-stroke karts, operating out the back of his van with a couple of friends, and his experience extends to two wheels, as he could be found in various trials bike challenges in his early twenties.

    Martin Brundle
  • Why?
He would probably have more stories than anyone else.
  • What is your earliest racing memory?
When I first got into two-stroke go-karting and how quick they were. It was exhilarating hooking them up around corners
  • What is your racing goal?
I would like to have a go at GT racing. The noise, the size of the cars and the power!
  • What was the first car/kart you raced?
I started in trials motorbikes, which required more skill and balance, but then I found go-karts, which had four wheels and speed was more fun!
  • Why did you choose your current race series?
It was very much built for novices as it was very much the first step on the racing ladder.
  • What's the first thing you do when you get to the track?
Go and see the car and the team. If it's not too late at night, I go and soak up the atmosphere.
  • Do you have a pre-race ritual? If so, what is it?
I try to relax and do some stretches because I'm old! I also throw a ball around just before to get my body moving!
  • Whose your biggest supporter?
    My son
  • Any advice for someone looking to get into racing?
Just come along to a race weekend, it's a great series for novices. Finding the Radical awning anyone there would provide all the information you need to get started
  • Why did you choose to race with DW Racing?
We've known Daz for a long time, he has surrounded himself with a good bunch of engineers and mechanics, and I really like the stability of a team.
