Doctor David Evans returned to the Radical family after an eight-year hiatus from motor racing.
The retired entrepreneur who launched and ran businesses in the electronics industry was a “schoolboy karter” who stopped competing due to a lack of funding after graduating from the University of Loughborough.
It was in 2012 that he purchased his first Radical, spending two seasons in the UK before going overseas for sporadic appearances at historic European racetracks like Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and ultra-modern Middle-Eastern venues like Yas Marina Circuit.
In fact, Evans’ racing concluded with the 2015-16 Gulf Radical Cup, when he was the recipient of the Spirit of Radical Award for sportsmanship, and it was only in 2023 that he returned to the cockpit of a sports-prototype racer.
He completed a handful of tests in the SR10 XXR he raced for “pure enjoyment” in the 2024 Radical World Finals at the home of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
